Spousal applicants get refused based on many reasons. Normally they draw attention to themselves by not properly explaining how their relationship developed. They also draw attention to themselves by having major differences like age, religion, educational levels, cultural backgrounds, lack ofpersonal knowledge of the other etc.. Then not explaining why those differences are not very relevant.
A couple that claims they want to have one or two babies is never a problem as long as the women is still of decent child bearing age by the time the visa post officer reviews their file. If the application has taken a year and a half to be reviewed the applicant will have to explain why they are NOT pregnant if having a family was a key reason to marry. How often they have visited one another from date of marriage and especially since the application was submitted. They will be asked to prove trips to one another.
A young couple of different religions who are not religous have an elaboarte religous wedding ceremony because their parents demanded same will be questioned relentlessly. Just because Mommy or Daddy wanted an elaborate religous wedding ceremony is no reason for you to risk your future happiness together with your spouse. The image just looks bad especially if one converted to the others religion.
There is nothing wrong with a carpenter only having grade 9 marrying a Ph’D Scientist but the two of you will have to show you have more in common then being joined at the hips as a reason to marry. Likes, dislikes, hobbies, interests are key to understanding why the two of you decided to marry. Proving by photos you both love rock climbing, enviormental issues, river rafting, automobile racing etc. will show that the two of you have a bond together regardless of difference in education. Some carpenters can easily make the same wage as a scientist with a Ph’D.
When couples live apart in different countries the applicant must know how the sponsor gets to and from his/her work place. What the sponsor actually does at his work place (main duties). Time it takes the sponsor to get to work. Being able to describe the type of vehical the sponsor owns especailly if the vehicle is mentioned in the forms. What amount of wages the sponsor earns. How long he/she has been employed at their company and the employment history of the sponsor.
Who attended your wedding celebration from both families and why some did not attend. Names and marital status of all siblings of your sponsor. Knowing the names of the sponsors parents (if any) and if they are still employed at what. Photos of sponsors family attending your wedding or reception are an ideal way to show a bond between you and your sponsor. Selfies of you and your sponsor do not really show there is a bond between the two of you because you both know the photo is being taken.
We have had DIY clients being refused for telling the truth about one another gets paid because the Visa Officer thought Long Haul Drivers get paid so much per kilometer instead of per mile because in Canada we have kilometers. Luckily the member was a former long haul driver.
We have had other Counsels clients been refused because of low income and applicant was unable to speak English. At the time of submission the sponsor was in her final year of University and her former country does not allow anyone to marry until they reach the age of 21.
